What this is

Counts of public records published by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the FDIC, arranged by county and by lender. It is information, not advice, and nothing on it is a quote. A median rate is what borrowers got last year; what you are offered depends on facts this site does not know about you, and only a lender can tell you.

Accuracy

The figures are computed from public files and are as accurate as those files and the counting rules described on the about page. They are not a contract. A lender’s own disclosures are the authority on what it charges.

Placement

We are not affiliated with any regulator, lender or bank. We are not a lender, a broker or a lead generator, we sell nothing, and no lender or bank can pay to be listed, ranked higher, or left out. Lenders are ordered by how many loans they made, or by the column you chose, and by nothing else.

Reusing the data

The underlying files are in the public domain. The findings on this site are published as JSON under CC BY 4.0 — use them, and link back so a reader can check them.
